Our Work

Circle is bringing together older adults with industry, academia, governments, and not-for-profits to best address the needs of seniors. We are an innovation powerhouse empowering British Columbia’s tech industry to create digital health solutions for an aging population.

We translate knowledge into new technologies and business opportunities; create partnerships to deliver real-world solutions, and develop talent to meet the needs of BC’s digital health businesses.

Secured $3.5 million in federal funding through Western Economic Diversification Canada to create an Innovation Sandbox.

Launched as Canada’s third National Innovation Hub with cash and in-kind support to 2020 from the AGE-WELL National Centre of Excellence.

We help digital technology companies scale-up and commercialize new technologies, products, and services for healthy aging. Our services help small and medium-sized technology companies understand their customer base and reduce development risk.


training and talent development

Training and development that addresses the urgent need for highly-qualified talent in BC’s health technology sector. Circle emphasizes the skills needed for a successful career, connecting trainees with multi-disciplinary research, industry, and community partners.

community engagement

Events, programming, volunteering, and other opportunities that bring together stakeholders working to improve the lives of aging people. Our partners range from the United Way of the Lower Mainland to small start-ups and local seniors’ homes, as well as events and contests that promote inter-generational volunteerism and understanding.

Circle Innovation Sandbox

Programming and physical space that connect digital technology companies with older adult consumers and the highly-skilled talent needed to scale-up. Through Circle, industry can access a network of health technology and “silver economy” specialists across Canada, the US, and Europe.

Connect industry with older patients and consumers to understand users' needs, values, abilities, and limitations. Circle helps develop patient and expert advisory boards to help bring new technologies to market.
